Your life has been turned upside down and you can’t stop smiling because of the little puppy on your lap. You’ve heard they grow so quick and want to keep them small just a little longer.

You’ve thought of booking your new little pup a photoshoot in/ near me Auckland, but you’re not sure if it’ll work.

Your doggy is so bouncy and does not keep still!

I've worked with many puppies, and they don't know 'sit' or stay, which is totally ok. I'm very patient and have found ways to get their cute portraits made. It’s really helpful if they know SIT, but we can work around it if he doesn’t.

What happens if he messes somewhere? I’ll be so embarrassed.

Doggies sometimes make a mess, but it's nothing paper towels can't clean up. I love working with dogs so it's totally ok, it happens :-)

What if your doggy doesn’t have good behaviour, good doggy manners yet.

I know what it’s like to raise a puppy, the bitey shark phase, the doesn’t keep still phase, the puppy breath, the perfect little paw pads and soft tummies. I won’t be a dog photographer if I didn’t love the work I do. I know what your doggy means to you, and I want to help treasure your little pup so you can remember this utter cuteness.

My dog is not fully vaccinated yet.

I have dogs in my studio shoot space. I also have my own doggy. The dogs that visit are all healthy dogs, and the floor, blankets and areas are cleaned well between shoots. There is a small patch of greenery outside where your doggy can go.

Usually, on a Yellow Lab photoshoot we go for a walk in the neighbourhood (after the studio type photos have been made) to make natural light portraits that are more relaxed and less posed. Because puppies are not fully vaccinated yet, we skip the outside shooting part and spend more time in studio making different kind of portraits of your playful pup. If we’re lucky, we might get a sleepy pup to photograph too.

Leiomy and Henry wondered about this when they booked their photoshoot with me in Hobsonville Point Auckland.

Here are some of my favourite puppy photos that I’ve taken in front of my lens

If you’d love to see some outtakes and behind the scenes to get an idea of what a Yellow Lab puppy photoshoot is like, watch the video:

When Henry turns one, it will be so cool to do another photoshoot and to see how he has grown and changed.
