Long Bay Village Market put on an amazing one stop dog shop this past weekend (18 April) in Auckland. The weather turned out brilliantly, there was great food for seasoned market goers, live music, doggy treats, dog accessories, dog food, a dog walk (think cat walk) to find the most fashionable pups and photography (that’s me! I photograph dogs with their families in Auckland)

What’s best, the market is dog friendly!

It was 4 hours of happy stimulation: waggy tails, excited barking, happy faces, people gushing over puppies, brushed out pooches, dog outfits, posing for selfies, posing for photos, and general happiness over being able to have a market among our communities and being grateful for the covid climate New Zealand is in.

The local goats came to the market too, which is surely an attraction for kids, dogs AND adults. I myself even got a photo with DJ and Steve. :-P

These are a few of my favs from the day

If you had your own doggy photographed, you can find ALL the photos to download here.

It was SO fun, but it reinforced why I do dog photoshoots the way I do….. The market is a lot of stimulation & overwhelm for a dog. It’s a lot of happy even for a person to take in and absorb! It’s fun to get a cute photo of your dog, but it’s not the kind of photograph you’ll be printing or treasure for years to come.

If you’d love a SPECIAL portrait, that will live longer than a block on your instagram or facebook feed, keep reading.

Advantages of booking a private dog photoshoot

  • Relaxed environment without other people / distractions around.

  • Different backgrounds, location and outfit changes.

  • Your photoshoot is 2-3 hours, there is no rush.

  • We spend time getting to know each other and chat. Having a photograph made is not a very dog like thing to do, so I get the best out of your doggy to show his true self with play and treats. Which ever motivates him/her.

  • We work together to make beautiful portraits you will love. If you love candid portraits more than posed family photos, we use your preferences to make your photoshoot and portraits unique to you, your dog and family.

  • If there are other portraits you’d love me to try recreate from my instagram , most requested is the flower wreath portraits in your fav colour/ accent colour in your home. I make these ahead of time.

  • As part of the Yellow Lab photo experience I help you choose your favourite portraits that you can display in your home as artwork. Your photos will make you smile each time you see them.

To say thanks for everyone who came by this Sunday at the market, I’ve extended the Long Bay Village market discount code until midnight Friday. Use DOGDAYOUT for 10% off your photoshoot booking fee. We won’t worry about setting the date right now, but you can get a good deal & get on the shoot list. Use the code here.
